It's been family time

Since the last post we spent time in Michigan visiting family, then on to Illinois for more family time, then to Missouri to visit old friends around St. Louis. At this point we detoured our original plans and headed to Denver to help with daughter moving as she got a job opportunity and the house sold quickly. That took care of the rest of May and all of June. With daughter moving completed, we are now volunteering at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora while we make new plans. We'll stay here for a while, maybe even until after Labor Day - we'll see. We'll do some road trips from here and I'll post any fun and interesting things we do.

In June as we drove across I-70 from St. Louis to Denver we made a stop at the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka. This was another beautifully renovated building with a nice balance of marble, copper, brass and pretty paint.  Here are a few pictures.
