Trips from our Denver base

We've been hosting at Cherry Creek State Park since mid-June. We've gone on a view trips from here. We went up to Fort Collins to visit friends and got the grand tour.

Next we made a day trip to Golden Gate Canyon State Park which is up the mountain from Golden. We skirted Golden and went up the twisty, curvy road to the park with the highlight being the view from Panorama Point at around 9,000 feet.

A couple weeks later we went up to Breckenridge to visit friends. I'm including a picture from a hike above their house which is just below treeline at 11,400 feet.

On another day off we visited Red Rocks Amphitheater.

And finally, we went to Grand Lake which is at the west edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. We had pretty cloudy weather but we still fit in some good hikes with some good wildlife viewing. We stayed in a cabin at the Grand Lake Lodge which I would recommend for the view (but not the food). The following pictures are all from Rocky Mountain National Park hikes.
